Arrival in Lima
Welcome to Peru! Touch down in the capital and transfer to your hotel to rest and settle in.

Miraflores & San Isidro
Set out along the Pacific cliffs, taking in Lima's smart seaside districts with their wide ocean views.
Huaca Pucllana
Pause at the great pre-Inca adobe pyramid, a ceremonial temple that has survived the city growing up around it.
Colonial old town
Explore the UNESCO historic centre — Plaza de Armas, Government Palace and Cathedral — and the Santo Domingo convent that guards the relics of Peru's saints.
Museo Larco
Finish at the Larco Museum and its dazzling pre-Columbian ceramics, including the famous erotic gallery, before returning to Larcomar or your hotel.

Ica wine & the Huacachina oasis
South to Ica
Set off early by private vehicle down the coast to Ica, about five hours from Lima.
Tacama winery
Tour the historic Tacama vineyard, one of the oldest in the Americas, learning how its celebrated wines and piscos are made, with a sommelier-led tasting and a typical lunch.
Huacachina & dune buggies
Discover the palm-fringed Huacachina lagoon, the 'oasis of America', then race over the towering dunes by sandboard buggy.
On to Paracas
Transfer to Paracas, about an hour away, for the night.

Ballestas Islands & Nazca Lines
Ballestas Islands
Cruise out by boat to the Ballestas Islands to spot Humboldt penguins, sea lions, herons and other marine life.
Paracas reserve
Explore the Paracas National Reserve — the Julio C. Tello museum, the dramatic Catedral rock formation rising from the sea, and the unique sands of Playa Roja.
Flight over the Nazca Lines
Take off from Pisco airfield to soar over the mysterious Nazca Lines, picking out the condor, hummingbird, spider and more. (Schedules depend on weather.)
Return to Lima
Travel back to Lima and transfer to your hotel, arriving in the evening.

Fly to Cusco — imperial city & ruins
Arrival in Cusco
Fly up to Cusco (3,399 m) and transfer to your hotel, taking the altitude gently.
San Cristóbal & San Blas
Climb to the San Cristóbal viewpoint, then wander San Blas — the Siete Borreguitos lane, the Sapantiana aqueduct and the famous Twelve-Angled Stone down to the Plaza de Armas.
Cathedral & Qorikancha
In the afternoon, step inside the Cathedral and the Qorikancha, the Inca Temple of the Sun once sheathed in gold.
Ruins above the city
Explore the nearby Inca sites of Sacsayhuamán, Q'enqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay before returning to your hotel.

Machu Picchu
Train to Machu Picchu
Transfer to Poroy station for the Expedition train winding down to the cloud-forest town of Aguas Calientes.
Guided tour of the citadel
Ride the bus up the switchbacks for a guided tour of the lost city — its religious, civil and military quarters — one of the seven wonders of the world.
Lunch & train back
Return to Aguas Calientes for an included lunch, then take the afternoon train to Ollantaytambo and transfer to your hotel to rest.

At leisure until your transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima or onward journey. (Arrivals into Cusco should land by 09:00 to allow the morning city tour.)
