Begin along the Pacific cliffs, taking in Lima's smart, leafy seaside districts and the wide ocean views.
Huaca Pucllana
Pause at the great pre-Inca adobe pyramid that has survived the city growing up all around it.
Colonial old town
Explore the UNESCO historic centre: the Plaza Mayor, Government Palace and Cathedral, and the Santo Domingo convent that guards the relics of Peru's saints.
Museo Larco
Finish at the Larco Museum and its dazzling pre-Columbian ceramics — including the famous erotic gallery — then return to Larcomar or your hotel.

Fly to Cusco & city tour
Arrival in Cusco
Fly to the imperial city (3,399 m) and transfer to your hotel, taking the altitude gently.
San Cristóbal & San Blas
Walk up to the San Cristóbal viewpoint, then through the artisan San Blas quarter — the Siete Borreguitos lane, the Sapantiana aqueduct and the famous Twelve-Angled Stone — down to the Plaza de Armas.
Cathedral & Qorikancha
Step inside the Cathedral and the Qorikancha, the Inca Temple of the Sun once sheathed in gold.
Ruins above the city
Explore the nearby Inca sites of Sacsayhuamán, Q'enqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay.

Evening train to Aguas Calientes
Board the evening Expedition train to Aguas Calientes; dinner included and overnight at the foot of Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu & back to Cusco
Guided tour of the citadel
Ride the bus up the switchbacks for a guided tour of the lost city — its religious, civil and military quarters — one of the seven wonders of the world.

Return to Aguas Calientes for an included lunch at your own pace.
Scenic train to Cusco
In the afternoon, take the train back towards Poroy and transfer to your Cusco hotel to rest.

Fly to Iquitos & the Amazon
Morning at leisure
A free morning in Cusco before transferring to the airport for your flight to Iquitos (via Lima).
Bio Park – CREA
On arrival, visit the Bio Park rescue and conservation centre to meet the manatee and other Amazon flora and fauna.
Iquitos old town
Take a walking tour of the historic centre — the Plaza de Armas, the Matriz Church and the emblematic iron Casa de Fierro.

Into the jungle: Muyuna Lodge
Boat to Muyuna Lodge
Travel by boat up the Amazon to Muyuna Lodge, deep in the Tamshiyacu-Tahuayo reserve, around 140 km upriver from Iquitos.
Jungle walk & sunset
Set out on a forest walk among the rich flora and fauna — watch for the tiny pygmy marmoset — then take in sunset over the lagoon.
Night river safari
After dinner, glide out by boat in the dark to spot caimans, night birds and other creatures of the river.

Pink & grey dolphins
Cruise the Amazon in search of its famous pink and grey river dolphins, passing the giant Victoria Regia water lilies along the way.

Try your luck fishing for piranha in the warm backwaters after lunch.
Night forest walk
After dinner, head into the forest by torchlight in search of tarantulas and frogs.

Lagoon wildlife & back to Lima
Lagoon by boat
A final boat outing to the local lagoon to spot birds and monkeys, logging your sightings in a biodiversity booklet with your guide.
Fly to Lima
After lunch, return to Iquitos airport for your flight to Lima, where you transfer to your hotel.
