Museo Larco

Chivay village & market
Arrive in Chivay for lunch and a rest, then explore its lively town and traditional market.

Cruz del Cóndor
An early start to the famous lookout, where the canyon plunges away and condors ride the morning thermals overhead.

Road to Puno
A scenic six-hour drive over Crucero Alto (4,538 m), past stone-forest formations and the Lagunillas wetlands to Puno on Lake Titicaca.

Taquile Island
Cruise by traditional boat across the deep blue lake to Taquile, famed for its UNESCO-listed weaving and ancient communal traditions.
Lunch at Luquina Chico
Stop at the lakeside community of Luquina Chico for a buffet lunch with sweeping views.
Uros floating islands
On the way back, step onto the famous floating reed islands of the Uros, hand-built from totora reeds.

Scenic route to Cusco
La Raya pass
Travel by tourist bus over the high La Raya pass, with snow-capped peaks and grazing alpacas, stopping at the Pukara ceremonial terraces.
Lunch in Sicuani & Raqchi
After lunch in Sicuani, visit Raqchi, the great Inca temple of Wiracocha built in stone and adobe.
Andahuaylillas chapel
Marvel at the gilded murals of the Andahuaylillas church, the 'Sistine Chapel of the Americas', before arriving in Cusco.

San Cristóbal & San Blas
Walk the picturesque San Cristóbal and San Blas quarters — the Siete Borreguitos lane, the Sapantiana aqueduct and the famous Twelve-Angled Stone.

In the afternoon, step inside the Cathedral and the Qorikancha, the Inca Temple of the Sun once sheathed in gold.
Ruins above the city
Explore the nearby sites of Sacsayhuamán, Q'enqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay.

Trek of your choice
Option 1 — Rainbow Mountain
An early drive to Vinicunca for a 90-minute climb to the 5,000 m pass, with astonishing views of the striped Mountain of Colours and the Ausangate glacier.
Option 2 — Humantay Lake
Or drive to Soraypampa for a two-hour hike to the turquoise Humantay Lake (4,200 m) beneath the Apu Humantay glacier.
Return to Cusco
After lunch in the valley, return to Cusco in the late afternoon.

Visit the cascading salt terraces of Maras, worked by hand since Inca and colonial times.
Moray terraces
Stand inside the concentric circular terraces of Moray, an Inca agricultural laboratory of micro-climates, then return to Cusco.

Train to Machu Picchu
Board the Expedition train at Ollanta and wind down the valley to Aguas Calientes, then ride the bus up to the citadel.

Return to Cusco
After an included lunch, take the train back to Cusco and transfer to your hotel.

Travel upriver some 140 km into the Tamshiyacu-Tahuayo reserve to your jungle lodge, deep among the trees.
Jungle walk
Set out on foot to discover the abundant flora and fauna, watching for the tiny pygmy marmoset, the world's smallest monkey.
Night excursion
After dinner, glide out by boat to spot caimans, night birds and other nocturnal creatures by torchlight.
